New kid in town! —Danny Ang
Hi all, Like many others, I’ve been visiting this newsgroup for quite a while and I'm more than fascinated with all the fabulous creations. And now, finally, I have something ‘presentable’ to show and I’m hoping to get some pointers from all you (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha) !

Re: New kid in town! —Jason Coronado
(...) awesome! i just saw it last night and i was very impressed! excellent color scheme, proportions, and poseability! i especially like the skirt armor idea. very well conceived--i might try that sometime. welcome to the blissful hobby that is (...)          Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) Thanks for taking a look, it means a lot to me. Excellent color scheme? Well, I didn’t really have much choice on colors. I have a whole bunch of black and little bits and pieces of every other color. I’m glad you liked the skirt armor, it’s (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Eric Sophie
(URL) Hey this is cool, I see familiar techniques done in your own style. Cool. Check out how you did the skirt deal, by using the hoses as a place to fasten the clips, very cool. I like the feet alot. The joint tech in the arms and shoulders is (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) Its an honor to have Eric Sophie replying. Thanks. The joints aren’t as strong as they look. It takes a lot of effort to pose the mecha for shots. Most of my parts are pretty old so the clips used in the arms and shoulders aren’t as strong as (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New kid in town! —Eric Sophie
Hey that's cool, its a good way to casually build your ideas. Lots of ideas everywhere, in picutres and in the peices themselves. Good job with the poses, I can appreciate the time it takes to get something you like and to get the Mech to cooperate. (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New kid in town! —Chris Maddison
(...) Heh, don't get too star struck. He's a geek like the rest of us, he just has more bricks. Right E? :-) -Chris (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New kid in town! —Chris Maddison
(...) proportions. Really cool snot work in there, and nice use of the hoses to hinge your skirt off of. And dude, that sword rocks! The best non-garage door use I've seen for garage doors yet. :-) Welcome! -Chris (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) Glad you like the sword. I only wish there were longer garage doors or maybe a way to connect them. And thanks for the input. (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Soren Roberts
Very nice for a first. Hell, very nice, period. I can see a lot of stuff I want to steal for my next mortar headd (if you don't mind), very creative use of limited parts. The proportions are a little off (mostly in the torso, it's just a little too (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) I was beginning to think it was only me. I always thought that there was something weird about the proportions but never knew what was wrong. Thanks for pointing it out to me. And I love all your MHs, very cool shapes and awesome weapons. (21 years ago, 2-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —David Gregory
This is your FIRST Mecha?! I can't wait to see your future MOC's. It's going to be hard to one-up yourself with such a fabulous debut. I really like the garage door panels used for the sword. (21 years ago, 31-Jul-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) Thanks for viewing my mecha. I really like the sword idea too, but it does look a bit short for this mecha. It'll probably look better on a smaller mecha. You guys give me so much encouragement that I can't wait to start building my next (...) (21 years ago, 1-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) I had a lot of good references. All you mechers here gave me plenty of inspiration and ideas to build my very own. I especially like those Japanese mechas. I don't think there are any Japanese here (are there?). And thanks for the warm (...) (21 years ago, 1-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New kid in town! —Danny Ang
(...) Unless you consider all the 'bots' I built as a little boy to be mechas, this is undoubtedly my very first, although it was revised a lot of times. And thanks. (21 years ago, 1-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) hinges, etc), I had to make do with what I have. Glad that you like it. Somehow, my mecha looks nicer in pictures than in real life.
