For years now, I’ve always made my bipedal mecha either flimsy thus requiring numerous stoppers (which are eyesores design-wise) to hold up or so rigid that their one pose looked awkward. Alright, must calm down now. :-D

This mecha took longer than it should have to build. The torso and legs really posed some challenges. With larger mecha such as my “Joker” and even “Brute” I had plenty of space to work with, but not so with this ball joint mecha. I could not exceed certain mass limits, otherwise the whole thing would collapse like a rag doll. Making a torso that was ~4 studs tall, could fit a minifig, and had 3 connection points proved difficult for me at first, but I finally settled on what you see right now.

As for the weapons, I went a bit crazy. I’m a big fan of all types of military equipment and weaponry, so I hope you all can bear seeing another mecha totin’ an AR around. ;-)

Oh, and I also tried incorporate designs from the “Rhino” into this mecha, i.e. the hatch is tiled in a similar manner, the optical sensors are dk. grey, red, and lt. blue, etc.

Enjoy!

I did, very much. This is one of my favorites of yours to date. The color scheme is great, you incorporated the ball joints wonderfully, so that it doesn’t look too flimsy at the joints, and you managed to squeeze a minifig into that teeny little torso. And that finger/hand design is great - I think it looks much better with just two fingers as opposed to more. And, this:

is just such a cool shot. Love the poseability.

Our little boy’s all growed up. <sniff> :-)
