Jeff, this is pretty darn cool.  The real crime here is that some folks are
going to do the whole anti bionicle line to this awesome creation.

Where to start?  I dig the head simple, elegant, fantastic.

Colors, fits the Hive theme, for some reason yellow and black almost always
makes me think of hornets.  One would think it'd mean construction too but
that's where the overall construction would come into play.  This looks more
scary and so I think hive warrior definantly fits.

I like the feet, three toes are good.  Great use of printed brick.

Shoulders are neato.  I can't quite place the part you got in repition
around the wheel.  Throwbot?

My only beef, and I'm not sure what to do about it because it's a personal
bane of mine as well, the hands look spindly.  Kind of thin, where the rest
of the mech is really beefy.  (you'll notice I don't use hands much, this is
why.)  But I do think with the insect theme (hive warrior) it is good.  Very
claw like.

Dude, I'm off to dig the pics again, and thanks for the ammunition agains
the "bionicle is crap" crowd.

Hey all,

I finished something new finally! I present to you the Hive Warrior.  The
major inspiration for this one is the gearbox shoulders.  I originally made this

and thought, what if I had another one of these bad boys and made shoulders!
Yeah!  But alas, no more yellow gearboxes to be had.  Then I showed Bryce
and told him my ideas and he hooked me up with a whole mess o' yellow
gearboxes!  :-D

So that's about it.  I am integrating more brick in my creations and that's
a good thing. Also, if you're at Brickswest come and check him out in
person. :-)

Go here for more goodness!

(...) Thanks! I've been really trying to incorporate more system bricks into my mechs. I found that you can get more detail and variety that way. But you probably already know that. (...) Yup! It's a yellow gearbox. Seven to be exact. (...) Yeah I (...) (22 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
