Hey Chris!

This is my favorite picture:

Cool, it's in the vein of your Mecha! Thechest has some simularity to Andromeda.

Dang!  Your use of gearing for the waist area is quite nice.

Do you recognize it? It's the exact same set up as the Qwilljox.

I must say, these pictures are phenomenal, too.  I've always felt that the
pictures of your bots, while cool, didn't begin to relay the genius of your
creations as experienced IRL.  By taking photos in high-res mode, and keeping
them somewhat large, I think the viewer has a better chance of understanding
what a Sophie mecha is all about (although still, real life is the best viewing
experience).

Right on. It took awhile do make/manipulate and upload them all. Now with my
3.3 MP camera I feel my work comes accross better than the 1.3 MP Mavica
could ever show. The Mavica still has a great Macro Lens. The Pictures were
fun to take. I just "hung-out" with the Mecha and messed around making
poses. Lot's of fun. The dynamics of the Mech is quite something, and very
stable too.

The head is just wonderful.  I like how you always get polyhedral shapes into
the head, such that the mecha has real dimension.

Thanks, I enjoy using hindges to make unussual shapes. I feel it makes the
creation interesting. If the elements compliment the possibility then I go
for it. Using hindges to create these shapes is alot of fun. Try it!

As for the ball joints, well, I have mixed feelings about them.  Obviously, it
worked quite well for you.  But I guess part of my fascination with your bots
is the complexity of gearing and mechanisms you use to create joints and
motion.  But, hey, there is still a lot of that on this speed suit; and you
finally got the kick-out pose on your bot! (Although, I'm waiting for a more
traditional, Sophie-esque mechanical solution to the kick out problem) ;-)

I feel ya, while I like the arms, as simple as they are, but the hips leave
me feeling a little cheated. I mean I worked on them for a while and I know
there pretty good for the design and the area that I was working in, I don't
know.
I figure a Mech with all Ball Joints would be cool. I have Bryce's Big Blue
hanging around with me and I just had to give the Ball Joint thing a try.
Truth is I tried to cover the hip joints but had mixed feelings about the
way they looked. So I took the coverings off and let the hips and the
thinness of the Elbows work off eachother.

I'm messing around with a Pseudo Car Suspension Side Kick out config simular
to the hips in my Black Robot and like the hips of the Red Robot. More
mechanical oriented. I'm hoping to make it's way into a hip on a completed
Mech. But I got alot to do before I can work on that. Stay tuned. I gotta
finish the Jamocklaquat first.

Cool work, of course!

Thanks, your reply was appreciated! I didn't get many. I wonder why? Oh well.

Later, Chris

Eric, Legomaster
