I remember that a while back that there was some people on here who said
that Japanese anime and manga series consisted of mecha and shows and games
like Exo Squad, BattleTech, and MechWarrior consisted of mechs? Well, here
are two categories to consider, Go-Bots and TransFormers and the robots from
Artificial Intelligence, you know, the movie starring the person who said
the line, "I see dead people" in The Sixth Sense? Well, I do know for sure
that the robotic beings in that movie were called mecha, even though they
were not in anime or manga but were in a American-made live action film and
they were not giant, angular, usually winged and armed metallic beasts of
death and destruction but rather almost like another unexplored class of
beings called Reploids, you know, from the Mega Man/Rock Man video game
series? Well, anyway, they were humanoid in appearance and were
superintelligent beings. How would you explain beings like that on here who
would be called mecha, yet are not listed under any of the criteria for
mecha on here?
Now here comes the question that bothers me. How would you classify
TransFormers and Go-Bots? Would they be considered mecha or mechs? This is
just some food for thought and I was not trying to be arrogant, I was just
trying to tell the truth, people.
