Hey Tim! Yes the upper body bends. It is mounted on a worm gear that acts as
the spine of the Mecha.

The Little Bot Series and the Gomgile all have this feature.

Gla Gla, Bryce McGlone, Chris Snead and Dave "Lego Mecha" Johann have all
recently used this technique as well. It really helps with the way the
weight of the Mech stands. Sun Yun has a version as well as Kunisawa.

Thanx, man! I checked out your "Little bot" stuff a while ago, and man was I impressed! Especially on how flexible/posable they all are. I couldn't get the mech I am working on right now (pix hopefully today) to do that in years! I'll have to try (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)
