Lol, thanks Tom!  I also have it looping in the corner of my screen, but I have
already been staring at this thing since Sunday afternoon.  I usually create
these rotating files for my own entertainment, but I'm glad other people like
them too.  As for making them it really isn't very difficult.  Here is a
summary of what went in to creating this file:

-Assemble the mech model from subfiles.

-Place the mech into a new file, and place POV lightsources (4 of them) around
the model.  Not in a perfect circle, or even at the same level.  Kind of a
random arrangement of lights around the model.

-Save this file as mpose.dat

-Open l3pao, and open the mpose.dat.

-Select long/lat. coords.  Start at 0 lat. 0 long. 750 radius.

-View angle 0

-Select include lights from dat, and select the 2 light arrangement.

-Seam width 0, and quality 3

-change save as to mpose0.dat

-generate pov file!

-Change the camera longitude to 6, and rename the save as name to mpose006.dat

-generate pov file!

-Repeat this procedure by adding 6 to the long and file name until you reach
354!  (60 times)

-Load up the pov files into winpov (30 at a time for me) and render away!

-Collect and sort the files into a animation program and save as avi, gif or
whatever you want.  I use the animation package that comes with Paint shop pro.

I did the label by creating an image and lowering the brightness and contrast
until it was black.  Made a few images, and pasted them onto the pov bmps.

Later all!

I have created a rotating avi file of my first mech design.

I just thought I'd see what this group was up to, and of course I see Pat J is
here too... never a disappointment. Awesome! Excellent inspiration! Now more
than ever, I've got to try my hand at building one of these things.

BTW, right now I've got that AVI endlessly looping in a small window just to
give my system something *really* cool to do  :)

I gotta learn how to make one of those AVI thingies...
