I was in Toys R Us today hoping to come across some of the new 2002 sets or
some small bionicle sets.  Needless to say they're not there. Oh well.

Anyways . . .

As I was walking around I did notice some new sets from Mega Bloks and I
have to say I was impressed with the way they're diving into mecha.  They
must be doing quite well with this series because I've seen them really
expand this product line.

The newest and most notable of which is a new series which comes with camo
paint.  Very interesting concept as this paint is washable and peelable.  I
just looked at it and thought that it was a clever idea.

As I continued to view the Mega Bloks section of TRU I thought to myself,
"there's a lot of things here that I would be interested in building".
I quickly glanced back at the Lego wall with the Mars sets and thought "what
an awful attempt at mecha".

It's unfortunate that this is the state of things.  You have one company
with excellent manufaturing techniques put poor designs and you have another
company with better designs but poor manufacturing.

It is a cruel world. Just wanted to rant a bit.  :)

(...) That sounds interesting. (...) :( "You know its sad but true!" (...) Is this still true? I couldn't help but notice the horroble quallity of the piece used in my newly acquired Tie Interceptor. I could be imagening things, but the new pices (...) (23 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
