Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Kyle Keppler
Daaaang Mark! That is freaking awesome! The poses of the Mecha were great! A few questions: How are the 'wings' of the mecha attached? How is the mecha attached to the ship? I see some sort of hinging something that goes around the legs, but how (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Mark Sandlin
(...) Thanks. :^) (...) There are a couple of ball-joints back there. (...) The Mecha is attached to the ship with a technic friction peg that plugs into the hole you can see on its back. The hinging is just to hold the legs up, and the arms in (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Andrew Todd Amacher
(...) Glad to be of service, Mark. Cool mecha- I really dig the cockpit and head design. Nice use of the drills on the cheeks. Later, Todd Amacher SILICON PSYCHE (URL) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Dave Johann
(...) Great Job, Mark! The mecha is very nice. I like the entire design. The wings on the knees threw me at first, but I grew to like them. The wings on the back are a nice touch. Glad to see you hopping into the ball socket groove with the rest of (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

(...) What do you mean? I used ball n' sockets on Enforcer, Helldog II, DoomRaven, Spidertank, Hardygun, and Colossus. (...) Thanks! :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Dave Johann
(...) I knew you used them on limbs. I'm referring to their use on the wings. This is new to your building style as far as I can tell. -Dave (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Kyle D. Jackson
(...) if the AAMs and ASMs are on opposite sides of the ship, then wouldn't it get a ways off-balance in one type of skirmish or another? Although I suppose you could just light off the other side for effect to keep things even <G> KDJ ___...___ (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Mark, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on what is to my knowledge one of if not the first successful incorporation of Drop Ship and Mecha combined!      Mark Do you have some close up photos of the door/ladder? I can't quite tell how you have the door open and recess. What keeps it from falling out completely?         Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Brian Cooper
(...) "One express elevator to he--, going down! Wooo...ooo!!!!!!" when he's released from the carrier? A fun concept. I love the design of the mech head (nice jackhammers there). In general the mech looks very parts efficient, nothing more than it (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Paul Hartzog
very cool, man i WAS werkin on a green and grey mecha, alas, i suck at it, so its on hold for now.... the carrier is very hip, i like the fact that it is dedicated to only one mecha, presumably expending its own fuel in mecha delivery, so the mech (...)          Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Mark Sandlin
(...) Ahh, I think you can make something once you put your mind to it. You got some good stuff on your site. (...) Yeah, that's the idea. Carry the mecha to a point near the action, drop it off, and wait for the call to pick it up. (...) It can do (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01 —Geordan Hankinson
Oh man Mark! That is so cool! I remember you talking about the carrier idea earlier, very good work. That is a very original vessel, And not only did you put a absolutely sweet idea to work, you managed to throw in a very neat design to top it all (...)
