A very tight machine.
I like the way your designs give the impression that
they are accurate models of real mecha, as if there
is a military somewhere that has poor grunts hanging
onto that cargo platform for dear life as
the machine clambers over rough terrain.

I was hoping someone would point this out. The true inspiration for putting the
cargo platform and all of those bars and handrails is from CNN and BBC footage
of weary Russian troops going into Chechnya via tanks. Those images always had
a huge impact on me, seeing those tired, old soldier going into a conflict that
they didn't even really care about or wanted to participate in. I always wanted
to make a mecha which would allow troops to hang onto it, so that I could take
some of those sad, "war-is-hell" pictures where all these tired and depressed
troops are hanging onto the side of tanks as they enter yet another needless
conflict... Too bad I didn't achieve this with any of the pictures I took for
this mecha, but maybe someday in the future I will.

I wish LEGO would make some mini-fig torsos with a dusty, old, ragged military
fatigues pattern...

"The military decided not to pursue development of
an independant stabilization system for the cargo
platform as it was considered too expensive.
A robust cargo securing system consisting of netting
and chains was substituted instead."

LOL!

I think I've seen a cannon like your multi barrel job
on a Cobra helicopter gunship, nice.

Thanks Brian!

It's also good that you're using some technic
for the structural skeleton and attaching plates
and bricks with pegs to cover it. This is the
way I build, gives models more strength and design depth,
and makes the exterior design independant of the interior.

Yeah, I've seen many people use this as well. It really is a fantastic way of
building since it allows you to create even better shapes.
