Very nice! The Cepheus is very original and very cool! Like Bryce said, more
mecha in this endoskelaton style would be awesome! Maybe even one with a
endoskelaton and then a layer of plates on the out side like a 'skin'.

Build on!

Hello!  This is my first post on LUGNET, although I,ve been a member for close
to a year now.  I guess I just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone
being here, especially in build.mecha.  Thanks for building awesome models,
and sharing them with the world.  The creativity demonstrated in building
mecha been a real inspirtion to me.  And those Dark Gundams, those are >freakin' amazing...

I've begun to upload some images on Brickshelf.  If you get a chance, please
take a look and tell me what you think.  My flagship creation is Cepheus.  It
came to be last summer, right after school ended.  I didn't have a lot of
money, and my car was dead; so the only thing left to do was build something.
I was always impressed with the size of the mechs I saw on various Lego
websites, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how the joints supported
the weight of model.  I tinkered around, and came up with a way to use technic
gears and springs from exploded shocks to come up with a sort of click-stop
joint mechanism.  When I built an arm, I noticed how much it reminded me of the
Terminator.  So the rest of the model was built as an endoskeleton.  The gears
and springs work really well, and they look cool, too.

Hopefully, this summer, hope to modify this system to build a framework for a
more traditional looking mech, or something that is at least partially
armoured.

I've built other, non-mech stuff in the past; but ever since I started watching
Gundam Wing, I can't stop building mechs.  So I'll probably post here mostly.
Thanks for reading!  And thanks again for being here!

Christopher
