  Dark Gundams

I've been developing technology for building large mecha (28 inches) with technic skeletons and gear driven joints over the last couple of months after messing around with Star Wars designs. Gundams are an interesting theme and well suited to this (...) (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha) !!

Oh MAN. Not only have you crafted some superb Gundams, but you also are responsible for my favorite Millennium Falcon MOC. You rock, dude! ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Dark Gundams

(...) Wow! I like the way you used the 6x7 Boat plate, and made the Gundams all vertical (i.e. slopes facing upward) Kevin (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Dark Gundams

(...) Thanks. The Gundams are big enough to use the Falcon as a boogie board, surfing the exoatmosphere. Both were equally fun to build. The advantage of Gundams though is that there can be infinite variations. I could build a dozen different (...) (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Dark Gundams

(...) Not sure what you mean by boat plates. Both gundams use only various angle plates stuck together for the outer armor. Probably the only really unusual parts are the rubber hovercraft skirts used for the black Gundam's wing thrusters. As for (...) (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

There are only two words, well there's more but I'm in such a state of shcok and wonder that only two come to mind. Anyway, the 2 words are wow and awsome. Keep up the good work. (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Ah, Brian Cooper: finally I have a name to put on my links page (I'd put Klaupacius Falcon on my links page as the best looking LEGO Millenium Falcon I'd seen, and noted that if you go up a parent directory, you can see tons of Gundam style (...)   Re: Dark Gundams - Joints

Ah, very nice. I'm afraid I'm not adept enough with Technic gearing to build joints of that nature. I need some lessons. :^( ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Dark Gundams - Joints

WOW! Very nifty! I think I'll have to agree with Mark in that I am far to superior to come up with something like that... My mecha always fall apart unless you are super careful... :-( </Kyle> AIM: legomankyle or KyleKeppler (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) The secret is to be the gear. - Be the gear? Yes, be the gear. You're not being the gear. - It's hard to be the gear with you talking. Ok, not talking now, not talking... be the gear. "K" (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Dark Gundams - Joints

(...) Mech pilots don't like to hear that before going into battle. Imagine, just after you strap into the cockpit the mechanic says, "Please be super careful with it so it doesn't fall apart, other than that everything should be fine... well, (...)
