Hi all Mecha builders,

I have been asked to organize a Apocalyptic Mecha City Project (AMCP) display
for BrickFair in Northern Virginia this summer.

As a military builder and having participated in the hugely succesful AMCP at
BrickWorld last year, I'm really looking forward to this! Last year we put
together a terrific bombed out city display at BrickWorld, and it would be great
to build on this momentum in the DC suburbs this August.

AMCP is a community-based modular building system to create a battle-scarred
urban battlefield where Mecha, robots, and other contemporary and future-
military machines can duke it out stud by stud, and street by street. For more
info, follow this link:

Please contact me if you plan to attend with Mecha, military, and related MOCs
and/or if you'd be interested in building structures for the display.

I am crossposting to .town in case there are any town builders who may be
interested in branching out a little. If you have any old, (perhaps already
broken) town MOCs that you've displayed for a while, and you want to deconstruct
them a little for a futuristic-style wartorn city type setup, this could be a
great new way to "recycle" older buildings.

As I don't build in the Mecha theme myself, I dont feel qualified to fill the
dedicated Mecha Coordinator role. If you build Mecha, and are thinking of
attending BrickFair, let us know if you think you might be interested in taking
point on Mecha-related activities at the event. It would be an immeasurable
benefit to the Mecha-building AFOL community for there to be an organized Mecha
presence at BrickFair.

Also, feel free to make suggestions for Mecha-related
activities/competitions/etc in this thread.

Hope to see you there!

Magnus

Hi Magnus, that sounds like a wonderful plan. I think the AMCP is a fun project and I hope this year you have great display. Kudos to the builders, and the Mechahub for helping to bring this all about. Glad to see the folks who build town help out (...) (16 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.mecha)
