The pimp my Mech contest got me all up in arms to use the color I have the

mecha, the Kestrel.

Is that really orange?!

Well, some of the slopes are that weird orange-brown color...Have to find out
what the Lego Group calls it.

It looks very dark in your pics, although I like the
colour scheme nonetheless. Actually I like the whole thing. The torso and
cockpit are done very nicely, and it does look light and agile enough as
befits its description. Im not sure about the feet, they seem a bit flat and
lifeless.

I was trying something different for the feet on this one. If you have looked at
some of my other mecha, usually they have beefier feet than this. There are
Three reasons why this one got flat feet.
1. Very few orange pieces to work with. (I have a very Large collection, but
very little orange). I wanted orange to be the dominant color on this MOC
2. Chunky feet dont equate to speed in my mind. (In battletech very few Mechs
walk 8 hexes and run 12).
3. This Mech is physically a lot lighter than what I usually build, so I
made its feet flatter and thinner than usual.

Also its a shame that the click ball joint halves at the hips
dont face the same way - I cant think of a fix - I know its only a small
issue but I would prefer to see it symmetrical...

You and I are of like mind in that regard, it drives me crazy.
Im glad you liked it!
