Re: My first original Mech - the Minator

Hi Ken, thanks for sharing! I got to agree with Jas, for a first mech, this isn't bad. I'm looking at the supports in the legs and it looks like if you pivot something around that is what makes the legs change position. Am I right? I like how the (...)   Re: dot mecha curator request

(...) Hey Suz, As I've noticed a great deal more activity from you than we've seen lately... I posted about 2 months ago asking for a newsgroup and curatorship for a PennLUG newsgroup. Any chance you could lend a hand on that? Oh, and congrats to (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.admin.curators, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first original Mech - the Minator

Hey Ken, Nice work for you first attempt at a mech, I really like the level of articulation you have achieved. I take it the leg has the "scissor action" to it as it bends, which makes for a highly posable, and well balanced frame. What sets did you (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

My first original Mech - the Minator

Inspired by a lot of the great mechs you guys have done I actually decided to disassemble some of my display models and see if I could build something equally as cool. (URL) I spent probably 25 hours fooling around with this thing before I was happy (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First set of pics uploaded! MSZ-006 (prototype)

Simply stunning Jas. I really like the (URL) photo shoot pic>. Gives a really good feel for size. Mark (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: First set of pics uploaded! MSZ-006 (prototype)

Quite striking. The new gun is superb, and skirt armor definitely helps, although I think it sits a couple studs too high. I still don't know if I like the way the knee armor looks - it almost seems to have collapsed inwards. Is this a trick of the (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: dot mecha curator request

(...) Okay. I turned on permissions. Thanks for your help, Fradel! -Suz (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.admin.curators, lugnet.build.mecha)

First set of pics uploaded! MSZ-006 (prototype)

This build has been an ever-evolving process. I thought I'd post a few pictures to get started (and hopefully finished). (2 URLs) Brickshelf Folder> This build was inspired by the MSZ-006 Gundam (lots of pics online), obviously I couldn't mimic it (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: RX-78-2 Gundam

(...) I'd also suggest making the backpack a bit smaller, and in dark gray. The top isn't any higher than the top of the chest (excluding the collar) and only covers two thirds or so of the back itself. :) Jeff (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: RX-78-2 Gundam

It is nicely done - great proportion and articulation. I have to comment on the beam saber, assuming you are trying to match the original design: The beam part should be trans-red or trans-orange, and the saber hilt should be the white pieces (...)   Re: RX-78-2 Gundam

(...) Hello Charlie, I've to say this looks good, although I don't like gundams. Again you met the proportions very well. Personally I would like to have larger pics. The Flick link doesn't work. If you leave out the word hyperlink like (URL) here> (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: RX-78-2 Gundam

(...) As Soren will tell you, these kind of mechs are not really my cup o' tea...the only thing worse would be if it had a flaming sword, but your skill level is undeniable. Glad you worked out that posting problem, so you can share these cool (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Zaku MS-06A Mobile Suit by Charlie Citrin

Nice. This Zaku has a clean look to it. For me, a real selling point is that it doesn't utilize alot of unique (or expensive) elements. It is clean, simple and elegant without relying on hard-to-find bricks. Oh, its also nice to see a mech so (...) (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Zaku MS-06A Mobile Suit by Charlie Citrin

Now top it off with a Heat Hawk. Try a shoulder shield variant or spiked armor pad next. Fradel (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: WIP - Comments and suggestions much appreciated

Wow!. I can't believe I didn't see this until now. This is the kind of stuff I wish I could make. Can't wait to see the rest. Fradel (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Latest WIP shot

(...) Yeah, it's pretty obviously a stand-in right now. MAHQ has weapon lineart for a lot of stuff, might be a good idea to poke around and steal bits from several. I'm partial to (URL) this one> myself. (...) Good stuff. Excellent stickers. Where (...) (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Zaku MS-06A Mobile Suit by Charlie Citrin

(...) Up-and-comer is right! Welcome to Lugnet. Not much to say except it's good to see a new builder. There seem to be less of you these days. I've always loved this particular Gundam. It's just so scuba gear and all cyclops and stuff. (...) Again (...) (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Less blur more eye candy pleeezzze (...) Never had that problem with Bioncile! ;-) (...) It's called the Bane of the Skirt. If you glue it I won't tell. (...) Nobody knows the diff.   Re: Brickshelf find

(...) I like the chest a lot. The platey layered look isn't really doing it for me. I do like the ultra colored title pic though. But alas...are those *gasp* strings holding it up in the pictures? I guess I can overlook it ;-) If anyone knows who (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
