Some notes: This is Batou's Fuchikoma from the Manga Ghost in the Shell.
These guys are personal tanks with moderate AI (and a good sense of
humor)that can be piloted or work independently of their master. They can
climb vertical faces, and descend shafts via strong cables. They have wheels
which pop out of there feet when the situation calls and cloaking fields
(opto-cam) as well. The driver does not so much ride them but interfaces
with them physically and can control them more or less with "thoughts"
alone. Thes guys are not slow or lumbering but quick, quiet (when their not
talking) and agile.
My Lego version is more or less to scale with the Technic figures.
Unfortunately it was almost impossible to create a space large enough for
the figure inside at this scale. I have my cyborg guy sitting on top of mine
holding a big gun  : ) Its a bit like the large Gakken Cyclone in that the
figure could not actually ride the bike. (Yeah...I WISH I could compare my
building skills with the engineering of those toys) . This is actually one
of my favorite mechs of any manga/anime excluding probably the large Gakken
Alpha.
As for articulation the four legs move forward and backwards and bend at
the knees. I have wheels that I can switch out with the feet. The arms are
mounted on turntables and can move up and down on hinges. I can even make
him/her clap like in the beginning movie in the video game. The cannon can
swivel up and down.

Mad props (did I say that?) to Mladen for the idea of posting the manga
for reference.

   Enjoy!

   Jon.
