This is my first real attempt at a Mecha, and I have really enjoyed constructing it. This mecha is based on the contest picture and the idea of modern warfare. The colours are for the desert terrain and if I had more bricks you would see a jungle and tundra version. The model can switch between having a rocket launcher and a mini-gun or just having the rockets. It can even transform into no-weapons mode for the friendly non-violent AFOLs!

This is a link to the gallery when public: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=166089

I hope you like it, because I have enjoed every minute of building it!

Thanks for such a great contest....

Justin

I really have a hard time believing this your first mecha... This thing just looks way too good for that. ;-)

Aside from the somewhat busy use of trans-elements and the conflicting orange and yellow (I think it would look better if you only stuck with one), I can’t find any faults with this mecha. The cockpit and flanking weapons look solid, and have that wonderful “official-LEGO-set” feel to them.

I am also quite impressed with your use of minifig legs as missile tubes... Now that is what I call CREATIVE! :-)

Good luck in the contest.
