Adam mentiones that there is a newer ball socket available, which has a
rubber insert that greatly increases its friction.
I am interested in that part. Does anybody know the part id?

http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x1192cx3 thats one of the several colors
that this part comes in. It has a different way of attaching than old ball
sockets, but I was still happy when I discovered a few months ago (only a
year after it became available in a bunch of bionicle sets).

Marco & Dan,
Thank you sharing this! What an awesome find. I will definitely have to buy a
set and test these new ball joints out.

For the record these came in at least sets 8621, 8622, 8623 in Metru green,
Metru blue, Metru red, and black.
BTW the clips attach at the base via a technic pin hole like a technic axle
extender which significantly weakens the attachment to a model. Oh heck! get one
and youll see what I mean!
