Hey all,
In March, I decided I wantd to build Brian Cooper's Teknomeka; well, it was
either that or an ISD, and the Teknomeka has a smaller footprint.

So I'm about 99.5% done with this model, and I have to say it was really a fun
to build. It took me about six months to gather all of the parts, and about two
weeks to build (with lots of breaks inbetween). You really gain a new
appreciation for these mecha when you build one for yourself.
For anyone thinking of undertaking this project, a few bits of advice:
- Don't separate out parts and put them in little plastic bags. I spent
countless hours sifting through the grey parts to find one little bag of 1x1
grey tiles. I would have finished much faster had I left parts in their usual
sorted bins:

- Don't mix grey with bley. Given the countless posts to this issue, it may be
obvious. But the effect is quite severe on a model of this size.
- I had fun building the entire frame first, then adding armor later:

This allowed me to get a feel for the scale of the model; I also learned a lot
about the balance of the model.
Anyway, I really would like to thank Brian Cooper for the time he spent in
producing an excellent instruction manual for an outstanding creation. It's
much better than the instructions for the the Lego Purist gundam from back in
the day...
Later,
Chris

| this is pretty cool Chris. Thanks for the write up. How long did it take you in actual build time? (once you had the neccessary parts) (19 years ago, 14-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

So let's try it!" "Aww man! I think I left the remote (...) (19 years ago, 15-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
