  The two Drakes

Here are the two Drakes... (2 URLs) Drake MkI> A medium mecha designed to escort heavy ones. (2 URLs) Drake MkII> A medium assault mecha. And (URL) this> is the link to the hole gallery (after moderation). Hope you enjoy it (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 8-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

These things are kind of goofy looking at the offset, but I really like the feel. In a similar way I didn't like the way of the ED-209 at first, these got a very viceral feel for me. They look like something straight out of a comic book or video (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

Hey Mark, thanks for your feedback. (...) First I had the idea that a heavy mecha should have some escort. The next thought that came to my mind was "How small can a geared mech be?". So I gave it a try... (...) Did you think of something like this? (...) (19 years ago, 10-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

(...) snip I have a hard time getting used to the idea that these are medium mechs, because they're bigger than any mech I've ever built. I like those monster chicken thighs, though. One suggestion, if you have the parts, I'd replace the 1X8 plates (...) (19 years ago, 17-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

Those legs are beefy! Massive! Super cool ankles! I like the modularity. The parts you used on the gun pods are very cool. These must be impressive in person due to the size and proportions. Thanks for sharring! e (19 years ago, 17-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The two Drakes

(...) Hello Kyle, looking at your mecha shows definetly that size doesn't matter! But as Mark stated in the Contest rules Drake is a small medium mech. (...) So do I. But they are that hard to build. Nevertheless they are worth it! (...) I'm sorry (...) (19 years ago, 18-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

(...) As Mark suggested I'm trying to redesign the too light ankle connection. Just to make them fit those massive legs. The modularity helps me in building. I can easily try new ideas... Thanks for your feedback (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 18-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Drake MkIII

Here is Drake MkIII. (2 URLs) Drake MkIII>> It is a heavier refinement of the original Drake MkII. (...) I rebuild the ankle joints...   Re: Drake MkIII

(...) <snip> (...) Don't thank me, you did the work. (...) Looking hot Marco. What I'm appreciating more than anything is how much more refined this is looking. The greebling on the thigh, and everything looks so much more proportioned. It's always (...) (19 years ago, 8-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Drake MkIII

Thanks for the reply. I agree, the overall look is much more pleasing. I started thinking of making Drake a carrying platform for different types of weaponery. So I could refine it even more. We'll see (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 8-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Drake MkIII

(...) The ankle is much improved, and I like the new missile launchers, and the solid canopy. Nice work! (19 years ago, 9-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Drake MkIII

(...) Thanks Kyle. I intended to give it a more solid look. The old single missile launcher looked a bit plug on top. I felt it was a disturbing part. Later <~2645 Marco> (19 years ago, 10-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Drake MkIII

Hey great rebuild, wow, I see the improvements. I like the top portion so much! The canopy and how it flips upwards is sooooo cool. The shapes you used work great. The ankles too I see how you built them up, looks really good. This is a cool Mech, (...) (19 years ago, 11-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Drake MkIII

(...) Thank you Eric, the more I build on it the more I like it. Hope I can improve it some more... Marco (19 years ago, 11-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
