Thanks Dan! My "White Tiger" and "Maniac" mecha also have front opening
hatches.

Didn't you already point this out about my "Maniac" (it also has exposed
fuel tanks), but again, these tanks are reinforced, and also the infantry
protects the mecha's flanks just like the in real war the infantry protects a
tank (and vice-versa of course ;-)). I'm glad you pointed this out, because a
lot of people are under the impression that mecha are
super-war-machines-of-destruction, but they really are nothing with support
from ground (and air forces).
