Welcome! Pardon the late reply, I have been trying to reply to this!

After a long hiatus (about 15 years, i stopped playing with toys around 12),
I bought the rebel snowspeeder set last winter, and ive been addicted ever
since. I then began collecting all the star wars sets that i thought were
cool. In my frenzy, i came across the fbtb site, and finally lugnet. I was
amazed by the contructions, which were far my intricate and detailed than
anything i had done as a kid, and it inspired me to do my own moc (which has
since been torn apart). I must compliment whoever pinoeered the SNOT
technique, bravo. It baffled me for the longest time. It was both inspiring
and intimidating but i finally mustered the courage to try my hand at mechs,
especially after seeing Sorens work (im sure youll notice feeble
similarities to his stuff, i studied his mechs the most). So,since october
04, ive been amassing various lego sets and constructing a small army of
mechs and support vehicles and troops.
|
Coolness.
|
Unfortunately, i decided to revisit this hobby on the cusp of the color
changes, so youll notice mixing of bleys and greys; it couldnt be helped.
Whenever possible, i used them with a certain amount of symmetry. Anyway,
the mocs below are pretty much everything ive done since taking up the hobby
again, with the exception of a couple mocs which were recycled for these
things. Ill post them in the order of their creation. And if ive posted
incorrectly, forgive me, im new to the game.
|
I myself hide them, use them, save them, waiting to amass them....etc...
|
My first mech, the Scud
|
Oh man, I really like the way the head uses those parts, my kind of stuff!
|
This is actually my thrid mech, the second was recycled
|
Now that seriously rocks! Wow, fantastic pictures too. The angled chest
construction is so cool to look at. The whole thing is super cool. You just need
some new hand tech. Very very cool.
|
All the stuff in red is basically a military unit, the various colored ones
are hired mercs. This is the Terrapin hover tank
|
That is sooooooo cool! Damn! That ship is sweet. Red dk red, yummy. Angles, wow!
Love the landing gear and the general angular look of the ship, super cool.
really, wow.
|
Sculpin troop carrier and assault vehicle
|
Ok, this one is bizzare! Wow, the angles and use of slopes and wedge bricks,
yikes, soo cool. It took some time for me to figure this one out. Plus those
pockets where the mini-figs sit on the sides. WILD! Very cool construction,
awesome pics thanks!
|
This is the high altitude command platform Shepherd
|
Ahhh now I get it, the pilot can swivel almost 360 due to the bracker plate.
That, took some time! I also think it is pretty cool how you use elements
sideways to act as controls in pairs that the mini-figs hold on to. Inventive.
|
Merc sniper vehicle the Scarab
|
Green and Tan, interesting color combo.... I like the angled front and it looks
like it can fit in an Xpod and you can bring it along where ever... I also have
a fancy for rounded things next to smaller rounded things, so it looks like it
has a bunch of rounded things near other rounded things, head hurt yet?
|
Merc assault craft the Torrent
|
Again, cool small(ish) ship with cool angular hull construction.
Great use of slopes and compound wedges. I like.
|
Merc black ops craft the Gnat
|
Ooooooooohhhhhh, black pod fins and Ninja parts on mini-figs!
What more can I say! Whats not to like!?!
|
Merc assault craft the Barracuda
|
SOLD! on the first pic! That rocks like boulders...in a big way!
Damn, that is cool. Drool Drool Drool.
|
Merc assault mech the Hornet
|
Sorry, not your best work....I do like the way you made the head fold down to
reveal the cockpit. Bold use of colors too.
|
Z-10 Mech Killer
|
Interesting, I like the way the parts are used to make a forward swept wing
look. Cool way to cap off the front of that new style canopy too.
|
Assault Mech SKRIM (Swift Kill Reconnaisance Infantry Mech)
|
I love the proportions. Cool use of parts and the back of the Mech with those
flanking jet packs is very cool! I was wondering....can you put a 1x2 inverted
slope on the bottom of the foot, just infront of the 1x1 headlight brick in the
heel? I think that would help finish off the look of the foot. Just a thought,
the 1x1 seems kinda lonely. Other wise great work.
|
The Colonels Hover Jeep
|
Haahahahahahaha, way to peg the front end of a Jeep! Plus that rounded arch
piece across the body in the back looks like a roll bar...very cool. That
colonel, though, he looks mean....bet he gets the job done! Im not clear on how
you made the little landing feet for the rear...?
|
Special Ops Hover Bike
|
Haaa! the smirk on that Min-figs face goes with the Hover Bike, lol.
Cool way to add a front headlight thingie....
Hey you need (maybe) a 1x2 dark grey slope infront of the long slopes on the
sides, add to top of red wedge plate. It might help make for a continuous slope
look on the sides, just a thought.
|
An infantry powersuit the Ogre
|
Oh hey I dig the upper body and the way you made those shoulders!
The feet seem a little stuby to me, like they lack an ankle too, but so what, I
think its cool anyway. Plus the use of that canopy is the BOMBDIGGITY for that
application, right on.
All in all, very cool tour of your work, I clicked on every picture in these
galleries looking for cool hidden stuff and looking to see how you worked all
those angles.
Great nearly flawless pictures too.
