Welcome to .mecha!
I can see the influences in Primech. And no weapons even, *agasp* what is
this, .mecha becoming a hippy colony? Nah, not with people like Mladen and
Soren to keep the aromory quotent up.

Concerning the weapons I dont think itll be me who makes .mecha a hippy
colony. Primech just wasnt stable enough to hold a gun! Im looking forward to
posting no. 24 which is slightly more armed than Primech.

Marco, great 22nd mech. Especially for the scale and tech members you
are working with. I like your placement of gear controls. Downright sneaky
some of them. Almost too clever.... I want to give you some kudos for
the shoulder action. The hinge built in that allows the sideways swinging
action of the shoulder looks rather clever. (again!) Good job!
|
Well I had some trouble with the scale. I Started with rotating click hinges for
the legs. But those werent strong enough to holde the weight. So I tried gears,
which worked very well.
Youre defenetly right with the shoulder, but the idea for that I found on a
Frame by Christopher Snead. So I have to give the praise to him...

Use of the rotating click hinge for the hip is a great idea. Flush out the >
idea with some hip armor or some kind of covering that hides the wasp waist >
and youll be the man.

Ive tried to cover that hinge, but all atempts didnt look good.
|
The flat(ish) head and flat feet seem to imply
alien. Which is fine.
|
Special thanks for that! In fact the head is what I like most on Primech!

Its the rest of the proportions that seem off. The
arms a smallish, especially when compared to the legs, and the hands are
downright tiny. The light gray/red I can go with, but the transition to dk
gray at the top threw me somewhat. Theres a shift in depth for me and the
upper body looks much heavier than the legs. The chest detail doesnt seem
intergrated as well, not helping the color shift. (this may because of brick
supply, in which case consider my color commentary blown out my bottom)
But it looks as if you are playing with colors and how to make them look
good. I say this as the color looks somewhat scattered around the mech.
Not really what Id call planned.
|
I thought there had to be a minifig in the chest controling the Mech. And that
caused several problems. I couldnt find the right bricks in light gray (I dont
have enough bricks right now and I fear I never will). So I shifted to dk gray
ones. Next problem was the size and weight of the chest. Just to big but I
wanted that small guy to sit in there.
I didnt feel the arms and hands were
to tiny. But when I look at the pictures now I think youre right!
Im
experimentig with colors trying to get a good look. But I know Im still far
from being perfect. I will(!) get better...
|
I hope youll keep building. I think youre doing
good. Keep it up!
|
I surely will...
Thank you for the warm welcome
and the really constuctive critics
Marco
