The year is near it’s end, so I thought I really should create something special to present as the last BrickCommander model in 2004. Maybe something new from Mechwarrior 4? Something everybody would want to see? Something that rocks? However, certainly something BIG!

The ATLAS from Mechwarrior 4!

Yeah, I knew you were gonna LOVE this. 100 tons of armor, firepower and gruesomeness. Since the time I added a grinning skull to Ron Perovich’s old Atlas model years ago, I considered creating my own design. Well, I believe this time I got the evil skull right. A visit to MW4’s Mech lab provided me with the necessary images. The Atlas is easily the tallest Mech in the game, even much (about 25%) taller than the Awesome. My model’s size reflects this: close to 38 cm tall, made from about 1.300 MLCad LEGO-pieces.

Sadly, the supply of still-unbuild ‘Mechs from MW4 has become thin. But not yet too thin. Return to Brick Commander in January for a worthy opponent that will even give the Atlas pause!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Always nice work, Primus, I’m a fan. After you made your Skadi, I went out and bought a rescue chopper set to get the canopy, and made my own hover gunship. (Not MW related, but inspired by the Skadi) The new Atlas is very true to the MW4 version, as well as the MC II Atlas. And the Christmas picture with the Raven reindeer pulling the Jupiter Santa in his sleigh was classic. Your site’s always worth a visit!

(...) Your praise is appreciated, Kyle! The LEGO rescue chopper indeed is a nice set. Actually it's one of the few sets I purchased myself in 2004. However, if you were ONLY after the canopy, I would recommend to buy single elements at bricklink. I (...) (20 years ago, 26-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
