Right on! Micronauts are definitely one of my fave-raves from my childhood.
Jeff, have you ever been to:
http://www.micro-outpost.com/
I often go here just to bathe in the warm and fuzzy waters of nostalgia. I
had quite a bid of Micronauts as a kid, but I bet if I still had them they'd
be pretty thrashed. They were definitely not made of the same kind of hard
knock plastic as Lego, and tended break in the many battles I created. Darn
fun toy, though!

VERY Interesting! I may have to pick up a few of these! I remember that
one of the other Bionicle series canister tops could be used as wheels. Was
that the RoboRiders? I never did anything with them because even though
they were quite large, the plastic seemed to soft to carry much weight.
As others have said, you've certainly set yourself above the crowd with this
creation. I would also be interested to know how poseable it is. I
recently attempted my first mech, and while it looked ok, it's weight made
it impossible to pose without just flopping over.
Now I'm beginning to regret trading away all my Bionicle!
