  Z797

This model is the revised version of the Z748. I felt that it needed a bulkier look to it, so I shortened the legs and added pieces anywhere I could. It kind of reminds me of a rhino with the head. Overall I'm much happier with this version than the (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

Brayton, my man, I can't believe nobody has responded to this....what a kick-a@# mecha! That main-gun with all the hoses and action rocks...actually the whole thing rocks. The minifig torsos on the legs are a nice touch. If one of Mladen's mecha (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) That turret is pure genius! So organize and industrial all at the same time. I also really like the clunky feet - i can see these being used as weapons and crushing little infantry men running about. Really good stuff man! I'm gonna haveta (...) (...) snip I've really enjoyed your innovative piece usage on your power suit and Z series. It reminds me of the art of H.R. Giger, who did the original concept art for the alien in the movie Alien. I miss the feet and the water-strider stance of (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

(...) Thanks Keith. I'm kinda partial to the main gun myself. It just sort of fell into place. As far as being a combination of Mladen and Soren's stuff, you hit the nail on the head. That's all my MOC's are really, just amalgations of other (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

(...) I appreciate the feedback Lenny. I was thinking hoof when I built the feet, and yes, crushing the occasional minifig is always a plus. -Brayton (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

(...) Thanks a lot Kyle. Do you have a link for some of that Alien concept art? I'd love to see it. I went with a different stance because I felt that the original stance wasn't right proportionally with the body.(Not to mention it was insanely (...) (...) The stuff I saw was in an H. R. Giger retrospective book that I got as a gift. If you Google "H. R. Giger Alien concept art" you'll get a bunch of links you can check out if you're interested. His work has been described as "Biomechanical", (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

(...) Thanks Eric. On small stuff like this I prefer to put in as much detail as possible. Anywhere something can be attached I try and fill it. I'm not as happy with the colors. I think they're a little too sporadic, this due to the fact that I'm (...) (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

Sweet Mother of Nuggetrons!. I just noticed the blue fig torsos. You could make a pretty wicked gothic version if you used solid minifigs like on Steve Decraemer's Cathedral. Much love yo. F (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Z797

(...) Thanks Fradel. The only reason the minifig torsosare there is because I couldn't find enough of another piece I wanted to use. It's the only good thing that came about because of lack of pieces on this model. -Brayton (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
