Cool. Perhaps I can hybridize this construction system with the rules of
MechaTon. I'm looking for something easy enough for the 6-12-year kids at
<http://www.philcon.org Philcon> to play this December -- and any adults, too.
I can't trust the younger kids to build original mechs, but I can give them
*some* creative control ("ownership") if I lay out a variety of prefab
components in a variety of colors. The older kids can probably work from models
and diagrams to meet the spec.
(Rather, their creations are "mechs" in the sense of "large blob of
weakly-linked elements that breaks apart at inopportune moments." An essential
stage in learning technique, but very inconvenient in a gaming context.)

The page needs a TITLE element.
I'm a bit concerned about the torso-shoulder and shoulder-arm interfaces: those
three elements (the 1x2 technic beam with 2 holes, with 2 pins, and the 1x1
technic beam) aren't very common. I've got... hmm... 22, 0, and 9 respectively.
Oh, wait. The 1x1 beam is only one option. Okay.
Mounting the shoulder to the torso *vertically*, onto 2 or 4 studs, is an
alternative; given the small weights involved, without undue stress. (I haven't
built any prototypes, but intend to.)

It's Medabots! "I declare this a submission robattle! --Why are you looking at
me that way? Is it my tie?"

| Man, that's fun to say. Say it out loud: BrickMech Spec!!! I've got my prelimary thoughts on a spec for building modular Mechs for my BrickMech game up at (URL) Look it over and tell me what you think! If it seems humorously technical, well then, (...)
