Thanks Eric, I was just about to delurk, honest!

My name is Adam, and I’ve been building Lego mecha for years. I love the challenge. At the urging of Eric and others, I’ve been slowly starting to get more involved in the online community. As you can see, I’ve got a Brickshelf gallery now. I’ve even got a MOCpages page too: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/1226 Please visit them! I’ve only got one MOC up so far, but it’s a lot of people’s favorite. I’ll try to add more soon!

It’s not that I haven’t wanted to be a part of this great community. It’s just that, I work at a snails pace, so in order to get anything done I spend all my free time building. I hope you can forgive me for that. :)

I’ve participated a little-- I’ve been to two Brickfests, ‘02 and ‘04. There weren’t many mecha at the first one. I felt a little out of place in a corner of the space room, but I met so many great people there, and had such a great time!

So this year I walked into the space room and started looking for a place to setup. I was so excited when I found out that, not only was there an entire mecha room this year, but Eric and Soren were there! Eric is such a great advocate for the mecha group, and my conversations with Soren left my head swimming with ideas.

I want to thank all the people who participated in the mecha room at Brickfest. Talking to you guys made me realize that I was missing out on a whole aspect of this hobby. From now on, I’ll try to put down the bricks long enough to post once in a while. :)

Thanks again! -Adam

(...) Um, I feel a little self-conscious after drooling over the ALM-011 on not one but two different Mocpages, but what the heck. It's pretty rare that someone de-lurks with basically a master-class mech, so I feel I have to chime in and say, More! (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Join me in telling Adam Silcott how cool his ALM-011 Lego Mecha is! If you attended Brick Fest 04, and you had a chance to see the Mecha and Bionicle Room, you saw a relative new commer. These Mechs are strong, sturdy and very poseable. Super cool (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
