  New mechs, Spartan vs. Wolverine

When Allister McLaren built his (URL) this mech> , Rick Hallman suggested he name it the Spartan, because it had green on it, and Rick is from "MSU country", meaning he lives nearby Michigan State University. Well, I graduated from Michigan State U, (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Gorgeous mechs you got there! You really have a style of your own Kyle. The mechs look so crisp and vivid that one would think they were ripped straight from some Saturday morning cartoon. I also greatly admire the way you built the Spartan mech. It (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Hehe. Inspiration can come from anywhere eh? These are good looking mechs. I especially appreciate the skeleton shot. I should do that sometimes. This is, after all, .build.mecha. It's an interesting style - very brutish, but realistic, if (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Thanks! (...) I hope I stay on the good side of that fine line between having a style of my own and repeating myself. Suggestions and constructive criticism are always appreciated! Something I usually like to do on humanoid mechs is use some (...) (20 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New mechs, Spartan vs. Wolverine

(...) Damn you, damn you straight to hell! You are making the rest of us bulky mech builders look bad! Jealousy aside, i REALLY like the spartan. The legs are massive! It looks kinda like a marauder, with horrible leg fat. The color scheme is (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Thanks, man! I didn't set out to do the solid canopy on either one, but somehow it just happened. (...) I just got fired up with school spirit, which led to the unusual colors. They were both fun builds. (...) Long live the Lenny shot! (...) (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) A lot of influences showed up in the Spartan--certainly the Marauder, but also the Cauldron Born (arms and missile packs), a little bit of Gundam in the different slopes on the feet/ankles, and some Metal Gear Rex influence in the cockpit (...)
