Hey guys, havn't posted here in a while.  Actually...havn't done much lego at
all lately, with nothing interesting to buy (it's all crap) and doing other
things (like Anime).  Recently I picked up a few Gundam Wing model kits and
was inspired to build a Lego Gundam.

I started building the DeathScythe Hell, I only have the leg done but it looks
pretty darn good.  I'm worried as to how I'll texture the torso, though, the
gold rims and all.  Any ideas?  I think it may not be possible, using normal
gold parts.  Either paint, or use a different color (yuck).  I *think* I'm
building to mini-fig scale, the leg alone is really big.

Really, your only option is to use yellow. There really aren't enough gold
parts to make this work very well, and I'll be very disappointed if you
paint your Lego.

I suppose you could build the thing using one of the Lego CAD programs and
then make the bricks gold if you like.

I'm thinking of building a transforming Wing or Wing Zero, but I think that
could be pretty though to do, especially after using up lots of good parts on
the Deathscythe Hell.  Anybody ever accomplish such a thing?  And then comes
the matter of the double scythe.  Anybody wanna sell me a few hundred 1x2
clear green plates?  I see no other way to do it.

The closest thing to a Gundam that I have built is my Enforcer mecha... but
it's only loosely based on a Gundam.  It's fairly large, around 14 inches
tall.

As for the double scythe, I suppose you'll have to come up with something
innovative. I'm not sure what to suggest... maybe something with the
trans-neon-green antennas?

Good luck,

~Mark

Yeah, Mark's right, you gotta use yellow. I would also suggest using a L-CAD program like Mark said, but I personally think you could pull it off just by using regular yellow plates, tiles, even antenna. Here are some micro-fig Gundam models by (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) You could spray paint your bricks. I wouldn't do that, but if you want looks, it ought to work. (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
