Hi There,

This is my first post at the much revered LUGNET!!! I have got into making Lego models again after many years, it was by pure chance that I saw foundryDX one day after browsing some well designed websites. I was totally gobsmacked.

Naturally I soon dug out my childhood lego box and looked through what pieces I had, and what pieces I would need if I was to attempt to create some lego mecha. That’s when I discovered this whole new world of master craftsmen and tech looking Mecha. I must add that I absolutley love all Anime especially if it contains any sort of Mecha, Shirow Masamune is my ultimate inspiration!

So that led me to sign up to this Mecha-centric newgroup! I have some very basic designs up on brickshelf, but I have recently acquired several ball joints and need to put these into action. I really want to make my mecha in the style of the Japanese toy mecha, a fully articulated Armature with Armour and Weapons systems being modular, bolt on pieces. I have followed Gla Gla’s armature instructions but I need to scale it up a little so I can get the required detail level I want.

Thanks for your time! Hope to show you all something alot better than this very soon!

I like! Very chunky, good color control. I personally favor mecha with longer legs, but you make the stumpy look work. The wrist articulation seems a little weird, but it's just a minor point. All in all, you've got talent, and I hope to see more (...) (21 years ago, 8-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Very nice models. I really like the blue bots chunkiness in the legs and then transition into a somehwat skinnier torso. The colors work well and the head is pretty unique. I also like the parts that jut out around the hip that act as the kind of (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Welcome to the fold... The mecha you have posted looks like what a expert would build if he had a limited amount of lego's. It definetly shows your potetnial. I'm loooking forward to see what you do with your recently acquired bricklink (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

What an excellent way to enter the world of Lego Mecha. :) Personally, I like this model you made the most: (URL) , but that's just more in tune with how I view mecha. Gla Gla's armature is an excellent starting point based upon readily available (...) (21 years ago, 12-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
