(...) I was working on a 3 mech combiner-type, but got a bit sidetracked...you can see the #2 module here: (URL) is the QMDO-02 "Quasimodo", and would form the arms of the combined 'bot.   Re: Lugola, Legoland and the Mecha Mecca

Eric! I just have to say that that was the most fun I've had in a while. Seeing your mecha was such a mindtrip! I know I'll be kicking myself for years to follow, leaving my camera at home that morning... Well, I hope that certainly isn't the last (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Lugola, Legoland and the Mecha Mecca

WOW! Looks like you had a great time! I enjoyed looking at all the pictures you took, and the stuff you wrote, Eric. Nice job of documenting your "adventure"! ;-) BTW seeing all those mecha together really got my heart pumpin'! A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! So (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Eric, It was great meeting you and the rest of the LUGOLA gang too since that was also my first meeting. LUGOLA really is a mecca for mecha... hehheh... Hope to see you again! Ace (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Lugola, Legoland and the Mecha Mecca

Hello all, I just reurned from an increadible adventure! After months of planning and making good friends I embarked on my journey to the West coast to meet other like minded people at the Lugola meeting in California! Wow what a trip! Literally! I (...)   Re: something new

Eric, Thanks very much! I enjoy this little community a great deal. I lurked for a good long time before deciding to count myself among you (the quality of building here is _very_ intimidating) and I'm happy to be one of the bunch. I am extremely (...)   Re: something new

Stuart, I'm glad your a part of this group. As you post and build more we learn more about you. In particular I've noticed that you said you have a son, from which you borrow pcs. sometimes to create. This strikes me as a person who is commited to (...)   Re: something new

(...) Yes, without colour or paraphernalia hanging off this one, I strove to get a good balance of shapes and sizes instead. Once the head and torso were complete, the rest fell into place a lot easier. <tease>And, hmm, yes... I'm going in a (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: something new

(...) Hey, thanks ! (...) Thanks again. The "fins" (long protrusions) are intended to be sensor pods, since this is a land-based mech. It was an interesting challenge to get them to come out at non-right angles at that scale... (...) yes, I do, and (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: something new

Stuart, Wow! Very nice mecha. This one really reads as solid planes and form. The shoulders are particularly well done. I really like that the overall shape isn't lost in greeblies (sp). I look forward to the "weirder" one. Later, Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: something new

Awesome Stuart! The mega proportioned body and ankles make it look very tough, and very animeish. I love the air fin things coming out of the torso! Those rule! and the little gun coming out of it's middle, aw sweet, this is a very cool mecha, you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Is that like an M.O. ?   Re: something new

Mladen, Thanks! Yes, I find that the exaggeration makes up a lot of the personality, expecially at small sizes. I don't have as much lego as a lot of the builders here (and I'm constantly "borrowing" form my son), so I can't do a lot of detail-style (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: something new

(...) Wow! Stuart, you've done it again! The way gendarme curves around the corners, and extends out in all the right places makes this one of my favorite mecha I've ever seen. Normally, I'm not a big fan of single-colored mecha, but the shaping of (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
