Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) Yeah, i actually thought about that today as i was posting, but after waiting 3 weeks to get on lugnet, i was a bit antsy. Things'll be a bit slower now though, my lego collection has inexplicably diminished. David (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

I kinda liked the Bobby Fischer reference, though i'll try to stick around for awhile. If only there was as much money in lego as professional chess, oh the sets i'd buy ~sigh~. Thanks for the warm welcome. David (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

Thanks for the compliments, it was certainly flattering to be posted on Jon's sight. His stuff is amazing, and to merely be mentioned there was a red letter day. He was actually one of the first builders to baffle me with some SNOT. Thanks so much (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

All I can say is that you're a welcome addition in our community, a very good builder and for the little I know of, I'm sure we'll be hearing from you in the future! I've been here for a few years and I don't think I've announced as many good (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) snipitty Hey, I saw alot of your stuff when you posted it on brickshelf. I have to say, it was a little overwhelming, you have some fantastic stuff there. I especially enjoyed alot of the ships, you've got some good stuff there, and a great (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

In lugnet.build.mecha, Keith Goldman wrote: "I have to agree with Lar" (paraphrased) Goldman agreeing with me? Did the world stop turning???? What just happened there? I felt all warm and tingly inside.(1) Please don't do that again, ok? We have a (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

Hey David, that way to open up with both barrels of your Lego 12-guage. I can see Soren's evil influence, but detect none of the questionable odor. Be careful, or you'll also be sharing his addiction to industrial solvents. The mocs are all quite (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) Glad you came back! You must have a cold because you have SNOT all over those MOcs These are wonderful. I am really impressed. These are so simple but elegant and stunning! I too liked the colors and the angle work. Great Job. Keep up the (...) (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

Wow, neat stuff. I really like your use of varying angles throughout your aircraft, as well as the color schemes. (20 years ago, 6-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

Hi there and welcome! One word to describe what I see... Stunning! You certainly have got a keen eye for building, everything about these MOC's is great. From the brilliant colour control, to the expert use of shapes and joints combines to form (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

What an impressive suite of work. When I first saw it on Brickshelf, I immediatly submitted it to Zemi.net You can see the post here: (URL) I like the mix of new and old gray, it works nicely when done right. I see influences of Paul Hartzog, Soren, (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: My First Post, and it's a biggun

(...) (snip) Wow. I don't think I have ever seen such a dramatic newbie entry. That stuff rocks and I don't even LIKE mechs. Bravo. I like the color schemes, I'm a sucker for red and grey. I especially like the little flying support vehicles a lot. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

My First Post, and it's a biggun

This is my first post, so i'll give a little backstory: After a long hiatus (about 15 years, i stopped playing with toys around 12), I bought the rebel snowspeeder set last winter, and i've been addicted ever since. I then began collecting all the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX) !!

  Jasper the troll

G'day, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. This is Jasper, the troll. (URL) Jasper is my first castle MOC, based loosely upon the trolls from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. (The Discworld trolls were what I originally had in mind, but Jasper (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

  Re: New MOC: Knight Powersuit

(...) A very nice mecha indeed! I'm glad to see you're back and building again. I have always liked your mini-mecha, but I'm glad to see that you put some nice articulation into this latest model. I can't wait to see what you come up with next! (...) (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

What what what! C-MAD! Hey that MOC is shwwwwweeeet. The super cool legs and color scheme make me smile! ...and I see that cool detail you got goin'n on goin'on....with those red and blue trans tiles on the back shhhhhhhide. Again, shwwwweeeeet. (...)   Re: New MOC: Knight Powersuit

(...) Thanks Jas. I had contemplated a headpiece, a la Patlabor, but it always wound up being way too tall and necky. I like the look that high shoulders gives, so I opted for it again. And the nice thing about most of the small designs I make is (...) (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Knight Powersuit

(...) Thanks. (...) Yeah, that's probably the biggest "innovation" this one has over anything else I've done. Serves to let the legs swivel on the vertical axis, as well as providing waist articulation. But it's so frail. 9 times out of 10, if (...) (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New MOC: Knight Powersuit

(...) Thanks David. Yes, this is a definite Gamut upgrade. I only wish I could get this poseability into something the size of the Gamut. The quest continues... -Chris (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New MOC: Knight Powersuit

(...) Ahh, smack-diggity, how I've missed it so...hey man, good to be back, if even on a bit of a limited basis. Seems like a lot has changed around here, but that's for a 100+ post thread that I don't have time for. (...) So that's why those guys (...) (20 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
