The best use that i could think of when i first saw them was magazines/clips for weapons on mechs. I still havent experimented with that. (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

A lot of influences showed up in the Spartan--certainly the Marauder, but also the Cauldron Born (arms and missile packs), a little bit of Gundam in the different slopes on the feet/ankles, and some Metal Gear Rex influence in the cockpit (...)
