  Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

After going back to the drawing board, the engineers threw out the mid-twentieth century 'atomic' legs and designed a pair of anime-style mecha legs. The new legs provide 20% more ground speed, as well as enabling the Paladin hardsuit to leap to (...) (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Kudos, Eric. Skrylitch is beautiful! This thing really combines so many different techniques--technic construction, SNOT, lighting, and of course the pink magic wand tongue--it really shows how well you know the brick and its dimensions and (...)   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) I really like the hybrid standard-leg/chicken-leg hybrid style. If only you had a tiny lego gyroscope that would allow the mech to balance on just the brown wedge points. Eric, are you listening... (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Well, this is definately one of the better gundam models i have seen. I really like torso and all the crazy angles you included in it, as well as the beautiful studless design. The hips and legs are downright awesome. As a person who generally (...) (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) DEFINATELY! yeah, that was a painstaking part of putting the mech together, keeping it stood up. Usually when i build my mecha i try and stand them up as i build to gauge the proportions and stuff, but it is hard to balance a mecha with barely (...)   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Thank you, thank you very much! I was definately going in a different direction from my previous mecha with this mech, i'm glad it is going over well with you guys! When i was assembling the torso i initially had those radar covers on the (...) (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Yeah, it was my favorite as well, glad you enjoyed it! (...) Oddly enough i have been trying to use some of those brown wedges for ages, usually as swords or arms, i guess they work better as feet! And Many thanks for the kind remarks! (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Thanks Chris. I think the torso might look out of proportion because I took the pics at a downward angle. I'll have to get more pics up to give a better idea of the size. I guess a lot of proportion is just personal preference. -Brayton (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

Although you've already made many technic mecha's,you still keep surprising me with new improved things. Another fine addition to your mecha designs! But I don't wanna know what is behind the flaps in the middle of Skrylitch his hips... :P Cheers! (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Weird. It's a lightsabre blade. (...) I plan on tackling it right after I finish a competition model I'm working on. Cheers, Allister (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Okay then... The combination of smooth forehead and fiberoptic "hair" at the base of the skull made me wonder for a minute if it was a self-portrait :). That's all I can think of, really. Soren (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin Hardsuit

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I wasn't to happy with the limbs myself. I'll put them back on the drawing board and see what I can come up with for the Mark II. Troy (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Hello sir, and why thank you. Yes, "fully wormed" means all of the major joints use worm gears to create and maintain movement and positioning. Very Glad you like it. thanks for the feedback!!!! e (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) R.I.P Rumble Bunny. C-Mad, thank you!ya the head is weird, but solid and very strong, it has working fiber optics in the back of the head, so the fibers are like hair strands. (its got bed head) lol! (...) Thanks bro, I worked hard on the (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Hey cool, thanks! Yep, the FSS fan in me calls too. Facial expressions? I might do that one day. When I'm even a bigger nut then I am now! (...) Construction thoughts then? Any thing you like, go for it. (...) That is awesome. I love that. e (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

(...) I sure will, expect the finishing steps to be added shortly. Great, I'm glad this helped you. (...) I hope so too, I get what I get, I guess. This genre/compartmentalazation has its draw backs, I'm getting a little sick of it, TBH, however, (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Technic (...) Damn, that is cool! Eric, what do you mean by "fully wormed"? Does that mean each axis is driven by a worm gear to facilitate positioning, but to stay where its put? Iain (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Thank you Soren. I tried to make this thing completely studless. I think it looks so much better when it's smooth. I doubt I'll ever make anything with studs on it again. -Brayton (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Eric, thanks for your reply. The knees do bend to just about parallel with the floor.(I think you can see the click hinge in one of the rear pictures.) I agree that the hands don't fit. Do you know of anything just slightly larger than what I (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin Hardsuit

(...) I agree with Chris. You may also want to cover those exposed studs, as they add to the unfinished quality. I really like the chest as it makes it look all big and tough. this mecha definately has some promise! -Lenny (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
