Thanks! Most of the credit for the minifig arrangements including some of
the special touches (did you catch the minifig child being hugged by her
mom?... (that's thanks to Gringotts Bank and the new stubby legs) are due to
my daughter Taya. She has a real knack for arranging scenes and bringing
them to life. I just gave her a few hints and she did the rest.

Ya, I kind of wanted to feature those stock cars (for reasons that will be
come clear soon) and since I'm a train judge I couldn't well enter in Trains!
So the rest followed naturally. Those cars are too modern to be used c.f.
1870 and I wanted some of the "small town overblown brick facade" buildings
so the teens seemed the ideal setting and Wild West the ideal theme.
(backdating the Tine Dairy truck to be a horse drawn creamery wagon was one
of my favorite ideas, I'm glad I have a large stash of those due to a friend
in Norway)
I wish I had time to enter more categories than just one, but it was down to
the wire to get this one finished... All pics and models were finished
before midnite, as was the writeup, but it took longer to unload the camera
than I thought, so it was technically still 2001 in Chicago but not HERE
when I finally pressed Send. (Rene said offline that would be OK, but if I'm
DQed for it I'm OK with that, I'm not out to win)
There are MANY amazing entries in the contest and I suspect we are going to
see a lot more squeakers surface once Rene chews through what must be a
crushing backlog of mail... I actually am not sure this one is quite good
enough to be in the top 10. Some of the castle entries are literally jaw
dropping amazing. But it's not about winning, it's about having fun, and we did!
Although the basement is a total disaster, it's the messiest I've ever seen
it with parts and opened sets everywhere, my work table is piled high with
minibins and piles of parts of many colors and types (something falls off it
every time I sit down), the floor in the exercise room in several places has
parts all over (from Nik building trucks and cars) and there are minifigs in
some very strange places. :-)
I've put all the raw pics up on Brickshelf... some are blurry or not very
well framed but enjoy!
