Hi all,
Here is my entry for the blacktron I space contest:
http://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=9419
I haven't posted much in .space before, and I don't own any blacktron I
sets. For our local Parlugment meeting we had to build some sort of
space MOC - so I decided to modify it slightly, add the correct colors
and render it in Povray. I've only recently began working with
ldraw/mlcad, and so far I'm impressed with the ease of creating
beautiful renderings. Its also great when you don't have the right
color pieces for a blacktron MOC :)
The ship is about 110 pieces, so it should go into Category III - Small
Air. It's name is the Arrow. Simple name, but it sort of looks like an
arrowhead from the top view.
I have to say that working with MLCAD and Povray has been a joy. I used
l3p to convert the dat files to povray files. The tools are fairly
straight forward, and with a little work you can get some impressive
results. Kudos to the Ldraw/MLCAD team! I soon hope to be rendering
some more complex scenes as a Scene of the Month entry on the ldraw.org
page.
Scrutinizer, I will send the .dat files shortly to you.
Cheers,
Kevin

| (...) S'Cool. Having done my entry in MLCAD/POVRay as well, I gotta ask: "How'd you do the hoses?" I was gonna add some (it doesn't seem completely BT1 w/o yellow hoses), but trying to build the things segment by segment caused much blurriness of (...)
