ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —René Hoffmeister
Hello@all! From Monday, your creativity should run wild for the 1st International SYSTEM Creativity Contest (ISCC). In addition to the fun you’ll have by building, you have the chance to win one of 12 great prizes, still sealed LEGO® sets like #6086 (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests) !!

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Kai Brodersen
<snip> (...) In the rules it said that there will be a poll in which AFOLS around the world will be eligible to vote in. What is the definition of "Adult Fan of Legos"? We have 13-19 year olds here, will their age disqualify them from a vote? thanks (...) (23 years ago, 14-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —René Hoffmeister
(...) Not at all, I will remove the "AFOLs" in a few minutes, thank you for the tip :-) Regards, René (23 years ago, 14-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) One thing to worry about that has plagued past contests is ballot stuffing. Terry K has some schemes to combat it, as it bedeviled LDraw Model of the Month for a while but seems no longer a problem, you may want to consult with him. Requiring (...)          Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —René Hoffmeister
(...) What I think, too. Maybe the votes needs to be confirmed: Voting -> receiving an eMail -> confirm by sending eMail to me. The poll will be sure a big one (hoping it, send models, send models :-), but nevertheless, it will be clear and safe. In (...) (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Scott Kirton
For those of us whose grasp of German is limited to counting to 10, and saying good morning, what does "raumfahrt" mean? Scott (23 years ago, 14-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Argh! (...) Hi Ben! Das war doch glatt ein Freudscher meinerseits. Grrr. Klar. Genau das wollte ich eigentlich geschrieben haben. Den 12. Tag des 31. Monats werden wir wohl auch nie erleben. Nicht auf DIESEM Planeten :-) Sorry Jojo (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Larry Pieniazek
In case people missed this since it was announced to .contests only... This may well be the most ambitious (and richest, broadest, and potentially the funnest) contest ever staged in the LEGO world that wasn't put on by LEGO itself (and it surely (...)          Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) See the official rules for the official answer. If they're not clear it's partly my fault since I helped translate them. Unofficially: There are a number of categories. Each category has 3 judges. Each judge is a judge of only one category, (...) (23 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Heather Patey
It says "constructional conversion" is worth 15%... what on earth does that mean? Sounds like a fun contest, must get my thinking cap on! Cheers, Heather -- Heather Patey Pirate Wench / Brick Detective LUGNET Member #490 (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... —Reinhard "Ben" Beneke
(...) In German it says "Konstruktive Umsetztung". I would have translated it as "constructive transformation" [of a given shape in reality into a Lego shape].
