On Sunday I showed a number of Ancient Theme contest entries to folks from
LEGO Direct and LEGO Electronics R&D. There were a number of enthusiastic
reactions in the crowd. (Sorry, but I can't recall who said the nice things
about specific models.)

Take a look at our new sponsor, Mike Stanley's Latin Is Fun website:

http://www.latinisfun.com/

Latin Is Fun is sponsoring an additional Prize for an entry in Architecture:
$25 of parts at Mike's Brickbay.

Here is a summary of the 12 entries so far!

Egyptian Procession Street - Diana & Daria Vorst

"Ok, the first entry comes from Diana (9) and Daria (6) Vorst.
It's an Egyptian procession street a little bit like Luxor,
with an entry portal built exclusivly by Daria, a sphinx gallery
followed by a sarkophag and the upgraded version of the temple
    from the adventurers series."

Adrian Drake - Column Erector

Engineering category. "This mechanical device is used to lift heavy

Colossus of Rhodes - Richard W. Schamus

"I know that the representation of Helos was supposed to be bronze, but I
figured oxidized copper would do. I know that He's supposed to be carrying a
bow and arrows, but hey a sword was more practical to do."

The Great Wall of China - Kung-Khoon Quah <kquah1@tampabay.rr.com>

    "The designs feature:
    - look and feel of the Great Wall of China
    - a wall that snakes around and up and down
    - interpretations of elements like the beacon towers and the Jade Gate Fort
    - completely modular using what I call the Great Wall Component System
(GWCS) a phrase originally coined by Richard Schamus (Component Wall Castle
    System)"
