Greetings all.
After working arduously on producing not one, but a few successful models
for the Contest, I've finally re-tooled my first model for entry, the
FX-Star Patroller II. It fits perfectly into category 4, containing between
300 and 300 pieces (including the expanded roller car in back). The FX II
has received a new paint job, exclusively for this contest. (The old used
more orange and custom-made elements.) The sole pilot of this craft is the
Black Classic Astronaut, back from the mid-1980s. It should be obvious that
among the small number of "new" parts included are 7 x 12 wings, minifig
skis (it's gotta land somehow...), and 2 large antennae for extra firepower.
ALL parts -- old and new are in the colors of the original Space scheme. If
you find fault with the pilot's clear visor, it can be removed... although
there is no Classic space helmet to date. Note that the pilot sits very
comfortably in a 15 (from sitting up) degree angle, untouched by either the
cockpit glass or the plate and bracket behind him.
Last, but not least, here is the address to this marvel. Future entries and
alternate models will arrive shortly.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.
James J.
Don't just play "well", play better!
P.S.: If you look hard at the hose ends on the large wings, you will see
that I'm using a trans.-yellow hose with black ends, like the instruction
booklet cover. Also notice that I edited POV-Ray color values to make
Color366 -- Gold -- metallic-surfaced like its Color383 -- Silver
counterpart.
P.P.S.: I am still offering custom-remodeled pieces to others that do
qualify for this contest, such as Minifig Shortcuts for 6 of the oldest
Space sub-groups.

| It seems like it would be appropriate to start a separate thread specifically for holding actual entries. With that, here are my first 3 entries: Category 3: Medium Ships (approx. 100-200 pieces): (URL) 4: Large Ships (approx. 300-1000 pieces): (...)
