Re: TLC: Use annual contests for Classically-designed set releases! —Todd Lehman
(...) Seriously? Did you hear that somewhere? Wow, that would be wild. And would explain a few things. :-) (...) I'd love to see a new line of classic Space sets -- not re-releases of old stuff, but new set designs using the old style. I'd buy all (...)    I buy the new ones, but I'd also buy the old ones, namely the original run of late 70's sets. My parents couldn't afford to buy me the largest sets when I was a youngster, so I missed out on the Galaxy Explorer and the large bases. ~Mark "Muffin (...)    (...) What if they released an LL-932 super-gigantor Galaxy Explorer big-brother ship and gave printed instructions to build an exact replica of the original Galaxy Explorer and its two smaller counterparts as alternate models? --Todd (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

That could be fun as well. :^) I could build a GE with my current parts, but I don't have the "ship registration" brick, and that's a model I might want to have sitting around untouched... it's history, ya know? ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: TLC: Use annual contests for Classically-designed set releases! —Nathan Falslev
Ya, When I get mine it'll be made into a monument in my space-age city. I will get one too, I just found out that my little brother's friend's uncle(got that?) left him his complete classic space collection. (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

     Then I'd gladly sell a Kidney to get one : ) How 'bout new Blacktron (I & II) Stuff too !? I've always been bummed that I didn't get a 6981 Aerial Intruder : (...) original (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: TLC: Use annual contests for Classically-designed set releases! —Dave Lovelace
(...) I was thinking a bit more about the re-releasing of older sets, and decided that we haven't got a prayer. There's just too many elements in those older models that aren't being manufactured anymore. Wouldn't Lego have to make a tremendous (...)         Re: TLC: Use annual contests for Classically-designed set releases! —Tony Hafner
(...) I don't buy that argument- the classic sets had very few specialty pieces. That's the beauty of classic space. They did so much with mostly basic parts. For example, I can't imagine it would be too difficult to build a Galaxy Explorer out of (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: TLC: Use annual contests for Classically-designed set releases! —Greg Majewski
(...) Heh... While searching for an older message, I found this one. Maybe it goes to show us all that we won't get what we want from LEGO right away, but eventually we will. (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.general)
