Brought to the Ice Planet as a test bed for rocket technology,
the research team is now using the Ptarmigan for self defense.
Extended Description:
The increasing nuisance of raiding Blacktrons combined with
the agonizingly slow response of the Space Police has forced
the researchers to exact vigilante justice. The Ptarmigan's
experimental hybrid rocket/jet engines have proven to be
quite powerful, and they make this atmospheric craft a
difficult target to hit. Wing-mounted instrumentation was
removed to make room for a pair of blasters. It has fixed
skis for landing gear.
