  Re: Midnight MOCkery

A while ago I made a "Thing Under the Stairs" diorama. Despite two attempts I never quite got the monster precisely the way I wanted him, but I still like it. Unforunately, I have had no way to photograph the thing. I would have sworn I'd have at (...) (25 years ago, 21-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Hello, here is my entry for the Midnight Mockery Contest, a skeletton's carriage and the ruin of an inn. (URL) would be happy to see this soon on Sarah's page, Kind Regards, René (25 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Midnight MOCkery

(...) Sarah, I'm in the same boat...haven't had much time to build while working on BricksWest and with the arrival of the new baby...heck, I even built an entry for the space Hoverthingy contest (sems like ages ago), but didn't find the time to (...)   Re: Midnight MOCkery

(...) It may also have something to do with the sheer number of contests going on at the moment....Yours may have gotten lost in the shuffle. I'll try to crank something out for it soon. -Dave (25 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Midnight MOCkery

Perhaps it is my fault for not knowing the correct way to promote a contest, but I have to say I was expecting more entries... If I get ten more entries I will add in an OVER ALL winner and the prize for that will be Hagrid's Hut, that is in (...) (25 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build.contests) !!

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

(...) See the official rules for the official answer. If they're not clear it's partly my fault since I helped translate them. Unofficially: There are a number of categories. Each category has 3 judges. Each judge is a judge of only one category, (...) (25 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

(...) So who judges the entries made by the judges? Just curious. (25 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... /First entry

(...) I bet it did. Lots of staging to get all those progress shots. LOVE the prototype photo for comparision. It highlights that you really NAILED the look, even under selective compression. All the details and shapes are in place to get a viewer (...) (25 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... /First entry

(...) Ben, Wow, that's a remarkable building, and seeing the construction/rehabilation in progress makes it even more interesting. You've set a high mark for a winning entry. George (25 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight... /First entry

(...) [snip] (...) Thanks René, for putting my first entry online that fast! My rural grain silo can now be found here: (URL) I'm one of the judges from the jury I had 10 times more to prepare my model (and it took lots of time...) Leg Godt!   Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

(...) In German it says "Konstruktive Umsetztung". I would have translated it as "constructive transformation" [of a given shape in reality into a Lego shape]. I think this is the James-Mathis-point in the contest: use of SNOT and other building (...) (25 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

It says "constructional conversion" is worth 15%... what on earth does that mean? Sounds like a fun contest, must get my thinking cap on! Cheers, Heather -- Heather Patey Pirate Wench / Brick Detective LUGNET Member #490 (...) (25 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

In case people missed this since it was announced to .contests only... This may well be the most ambitious (and richest, broadest, and potentially the funnest) contest ever staged in the LEGO world that wasn't put on by LEGO itself (and it surely (...)   Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

Argh! (...) Hi Ben! Das war doch glatt ein Freudscher meinerseits. Grrr. Klar. Genau das wollte ich eigentlich geschrieben haben. Den 12. Tag des 31. Monats werden wir wohl auch nie erleben. Nicht auf DIESEM Planeten :-) Sorry Jojo (25 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

(...) Hi Jojo, in American English dates are given in the format mm/dd/yyyy and so the deadline is on 12/31/01 = the last day of this year. Regards, Ben (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

(...) What I think, too. Maybe the votes needs to be confirmed: Voting -> receiving an eMail -> confirm by sending eMail to me. The poll will be sure a big one (hoping it, send models, send models :-), but nevertheless, it will be clear and safe. In (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)
