When I saw the brochure for the house, I wanted to see what it would look like
and also in LEGO ;) I loved the idea of so much surrounding water and the
spaciousness of the house.
It was taken from plans of a prize home, here in Australia on the Sunshine Coast
(QLD). I didn't have a lot to go from, just the brochure which I ended up
losing somehow, way before most of it was started :( and a few pictures I was
able to find (as you can see amongst the pictures, used for comparison).
I did try to get as much as possible to the real thing. I have changed a few
things due to lack of pictures/time/space etc and it's not quite the right size
in some places, but it ended up fitting together ok.
The plans were ok to work from, but since the plans are only artist impression,
they were not always exact to the real house, and that caused a few problems
(like the study for example).
Due to the size of the house, I found it somewhat hard to capture the whole
thing in one photo (it takes up most of the trestle table).
This is my first house done by plans (that I did have) and I hope to do more in
the future, however, it is very time consuming (and used so many tiles!!!). You
may see a few old tiles in the pictures, I did recieve some new ones in the end
but it was just too hard to pull apart and replace them.
I hope you enjoy my house :)
Thanks,
Mel
