I have finally taken some photos of the model by itself, which are now
public at:

Photos of the real church are included for comparison.

PLMKWYT!

Hi Peter,

I was just checking this out. (I remembered it from the train show too...I
wondered who built it). I really like the details, the sand green stripes on
the roof. Very nice.

The only thing I don't like is the use of white for the base layer--it is
clear to me why white was chosen (from the real pix), but I think I would
have gone with dark gray, or possibly would have thought about and tried the
light light gray from the mosaic. (would have been interesting-I'm sure).

When I first saw this in the train layout it inspired me to start thinking
about a church for my setup (Thanks!) I think I found one I like in Queens.

Great Job! Congrats!

Best,
Jonathan
