Hi John fareaway friend! I am happy that my "Überraschung" (surprise) worked well. I really prefer to build a MOC first and then showing it online or at events. Hi Alan, thanks for you feedback. I knew that there was allready a LEGO model of the church for fundraising. At flickr.com I found this: (3 URLs) I contacted LEGO if they know what happend to this model - but they don't know. These days it is not (...) Hi Olof, (...) Thanks for you feedback! The PBY-5A Catalina seems to be a challenge. There is hardly any normal LEGO plate like surface: (2 URLs) (bigger picture) But do not show any sneak previews. Hi Aaron, thank you for your feedback as well. And yes, feel free to use these pictures as a reference for your own creations. I allways try to start with a very characteristic detail or area of a building. The tall windows with the double arches (...) Hi Gary, many thanks for your bi-lingual feedback and comments! While gathering information I used several websites and two nice books. I know most of the whole history of the church right now. Holger, Kurz gesagt, Ausgezeichnet!! Dresden's Frauenkirche (also its' Cathedral), was Germany's largest (as-built) Lutheran Cathedral. snip The model is spot on from start to finish. I loved the way you handled the walls. And running my fingers over the roof slopes was fun. As always so much is lost because of having only pictures. Very nice model! When we visited Dresden in June 2004, the church was still under construction, but largely finished on the outside. There was actually a large Lego model of the Frauenkirche in one of the local department stores (Kaufhof? (...) (18 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

The real church was nearly fully destroyed in the last days of WW II and encouraged people decided after the german reunification (...) G'day all, Been ages since I last posted any MOC stuff... I recently built a house for a competition (hence the size for mobility and we were only allowed to take one picture). I noticed this part: (URL) And thought it would be great for a lintel on a building window. As I learned here on Lugnet, a lintel is the top part of a window.
