Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

(...) construction. (...) The canopy on that tan building is great. Cute little outside dining area. The big 8wide emporium sign is cool too. I really like the decorative tops of each building. Great stuff. -Jason (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

(...) I love the buildings! You allways seem to have a great building to show off! Also I'm behind you on that brick red, I really need to get started on my hobby store & i want it to look like an old fire hall. I have so many idea for that color (...)   Re: 2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

I really did the red&white canopy. Those 1x6x31/2 arches are among my favorite pieces. 6 months ago I would have salivated at the use of so many, but I have a lot now as well, thanks to Brickbay (although my supply for new buildings is pretty low - (...)   2 More buildings from TCLTC layout

These will be the final 2 pics of buildings from the TCLTC layout that I will post for a while; the remaining few are still in various stages of construction. These two are actually set together as they will sit on the layout: (URL) the advent of (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Octan World Headquarters Building

Thanks for the compliments. Do you have a web link to your buildings? I'd like to see them. "Alexander Johnston" <Areas-4@excite.com> wrote in message news:GK8qyt.L50@lugnet.com... (...) inspired (...) to (...) (23 years ago, 26-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Octan World Headquarters Building

Dude. Your buildings rule. Bottom line, no exceptions! They have inspired me to build my own little bricktopia. All I have to do is get the money to get the parts I need AND get the new USC Rebel Blockade Runner! :) (23 years ago, 25-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Narrow "Dutch" buildings.

(...) Guess I should have phrased that differently. That was the first online comment. I'm pretty sure that everyone who saw them at Ringe's house had a nice comment. I was just moaning about the almost complete lack of response to my post here: (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

These may be what you are looking for: (URL) Dorst also has his own (Dutch) home put into Lego: (URL) luck with your designs!   Narrow "Dutch" buildings.

For the past 6 months, I have avoided this newsgroup ( lugnet.build.arch ) , on the basis that building things with arches was a bit restrictive, and anyway, I don't have enough arches to do anything interesting. But now, I see that "arch" is short (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Hm. Dan, your point is valid, I think, but not what Larry was referring to. To my way of thinking, the buildings -should- have been (but were not) posted to lugnet.trains. They were instead posted to lugnet.trains.org (among others). Larry's point (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Actually, Larry, it can be viewed as most appropriate of John Neal to post to .train. I kindly direct you to model rr mags which routinely feature articles on buildings related to train layouts. As John is a regular trainbuilder, surely this (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Thanks, Brad, and of course, you are absolutely correct. I do plan on one day finishing the interior, but I was just too excited about building more buildings at the time and so just I forged on to newer things. Thing is, when you start a (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) To Jason and Cary: It's actually pretty sturdy. The only real potential weak spot is where I have stacked the thin walls with the 1x2 dark gray plate in between them. If you will notice the row of plates onto which the grill tiles are (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)
