  Re: New Building (light gray)

Actually, Larry, it can be viewed as most appropriate of John Neal to post to .train. I kindly direct you to model rr mags which routinely feature articles on buildings related to train layouts. As John is a regular trainbuilder, surely this (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Thanks, Brad, and of course, you are absolutely correct. I do plan on one day finishing the interior, but I was just too excited about building more buildings at the time and so just I forged on to newer things. Thing is, when you start a (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...) (...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) To Jason and Cary: It's actually pretty sturdy. The only real potential weak spot is where I have stacked the thin walls with the 1x2 dark gray plate in between them. If you will notice the row of plates onto which the grill tiles are (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

(...) I'm assuming floors would add a lot of strength... as well as adding to the realism (even if undetailed... a big hollow shell doesn't look right unless it's supposed to be a big hollow atrium) (...) So do you have a custom carved shell you use (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

In lugnet.build, Jason Spears writes: ... (...) My question as well. I have built a number of large buildings for train shows that have traveled with varying success. How do you plan to transport it -- or is it stronger than it looks? So far I've (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Neat. All those thinwalls are pretty impressive. How sturdy is this? It looks extremely fragile. <snip> -Jason PS Maybe you could have a little train car (2 wide or something) next to each of your buildings so the "FUT Police" wouldn't harass (...) In lugnet.trains.org, John Neal writes: <snip> Awesome building but once again the FUT has been set incorrectly. I ask everyone else, please make up for John's stubbornness and set them correctly.   New Building (light gray)

Although this building is new to the net, I actually began building it last year after a huge sale of 4561s from Walmart.
