I made a replica of Stonehenge on a 2X2 baseplate area. It is, of course, Stonehenge as it looked centuries ago when none of the stones had fallen down yet.

Here’s the whole Stonehenge gallery on Brickshelf.

Since the real Stonehenge isn’t really that structurally complex, the MOC version wasn’t very complicated to build. I scaled it down to 4 green baseplates, so there were some basic features that I had to decrease in quantity. (The MOC only has 4 triliths, 16 outer columns and 8 “bluestones”.) However, all the main stone components are there.

All of the people who were quick to point out that the new Viking sets were historically inaccurate because of the horns on the helmets, will probably notice that I’ve filled my Stonehenge with Druids. (Druids weren’t even around yet when the real Stonehenge was built.) Yeah, I know that Druids didn’t build Stonehenge, but a bunch of druid minifigs look cool, and I have plenty of black & blay hoods, so why not?

I’ll be bringing this to Brickfest. Let me know if you like it.

I’d also like to thank LEGO and Toys R Us for those #4679 random piece tubs that had a bunch of light gray 1X3X5 bricks in the bonus pieces. I wouldn’t’ve been able to finish this MOC without those, since the rest of my light gray bricks were in other MOC’s at the time that I built this.

Oh, boy! And it looks like the Emperor himself has come to personally oversee the completion of this structure: (URL) Will he appreciate Spinal Tap's musical tribute? Only time will tell... -Teddy (19 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.starwars, FTX)
