Re: The Brick Testament: Abimelech, King of Israel

(...) Jg 8:33: Great idol! Very grotesque and creepy. Jg 9:3-4: The turntable bases look great as a tile floor. I've used them as (URL) before, but this is an really nice use. The neat thing about it is that you can put another pattern underneath (...) (19 years ago, 9-May-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament: Abimelech, King of Israel

Hey Brendan, How's this for turn-around? :) 69 Sons: The idol is really well done. I especially like the bug-eye things with the helmets. The floor idea with the turntable halves is also very nice. In 9:3-4 are those chrome silver coins? If so, (...) (19 years ago, 9-May-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Mythic creatures by Micah Berger

(...) Okay, those are all pretty cool, but the Cyclops is awesome. Easily the best evocation I've ever laid my eye on. The over-huge mouth is great and really displays a lot of character in its expression. I also love his spike-toothed (or (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: The Brick Testament: Gideon!

Splendid as always, Rev. The great blood effects bring me back again and again. Makes me think of Monty Python's sendup of Sam Peckinpah. Thanks to you, Lego Bible Study is going to be a big hit at church camp this summer. -Teddy (19 years ago, 23-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: The Brick Testament: Gideon!

(...) Wow! Thank you for the detailed reply - I never thought I'd be getting an education in Hebrew etymology on LUGNET. The most interesting theory was from the (URL) Jewish Encyclopedia> link - that the ephod started out as a garment for an an (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: The Brick Testament: Gideon!

(...) Thanks, Bruce. (...) I'm not sure why I got wrapped up in creating mosaic patterns out of headlight bricks before trying the simpler idea of creating them out of regular ol' bricks and plates. I guess the headlight mosaics have the nice (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
